A bit about kin2skin...
kin2Skin was born with the mission of empowering parents and caregivers to support their babies' health and emotional development by understanding the benefits of nurturing touch and by learning practices that can facilitate positive skin-to-skin contact.
kin2Skin pursues to take this practice not only to parents, but also to adults who are next to kin of babies who, for whatever reason, do not have their biological parents with them. kin2Skin aims to make its services more easily accessible to parents or kin who are finding it more difficult to bond with their babies or who are in a particularly vulnerable situation, such as helping babies with additional health care needs.
kin2Skin also intends to link Mexico and the UK by offering its services in Spanish and in English.
Hi! I am the founder of kin2Skin. Originally from Mexico City, living in England since 2008. I am a very happy mum of my cheeky son Oliver. I believe that all babies deserve the best start in life and that parents and caregivers have the most rewarding but equally challenging job so they deserve support, love and care.
I had the privilege of supporting families with children under five through my work in children's centres in London for half a decade. My passion for early years education led me to qualify as a baby massage, baby yoga, story massage and baby signing teacher. More recently, I became a peadiatric massage therapist and infant massage instructor of babies with additional health care needs. I have run lots of courses for parents and babies in various settings and have thoroughly enjoyed it! Having witnessed all the benefits that baby massage and other techniques involving positive touch and communication through the senses can bring, inspired me to share these practices so that more families get to experience them.
kin2Skin has a strong and established partnership with Blossom & Berry. I am an international trainer of baby massage instructors. You can read about the courses for instructors available in Mexico here. We offer face to face and distant learning options to study, our online platform is fantastic, full of useful resources that lead you to a professional qualification. I also offer training for instructors in London. Working with Gayle Berry, we have run charity projects to support families with babies with additional health care needs and parents in low income rural communities in Mexico.
A more recent partnership is one with El Recreo En Castellano, a Spanish Club based in southeast London. We will be offering Mini Bebitos from September 2018, a brand new multi sensory Spanish sessions for babies aged 2-17 months and their parents.
